In today’s world, skilled graphic designers are in demand as organisations tend to rely on visual content to communicate messages to the audience, said the best award-winning artist in the graphic design category at the 23rd Young Artist Art Exhibition Mahatab Rashid.
‘We are living in the age of visual communication. Advertising agencies, newspapers, publishing houses and many other organisations use various designs composed of different forms, colours and figures to communicate a message visually to the audience. Therefore, skilled graphic designers are in demand nowadays,’ cartoonist and graphic designer Mahatab Rashid told New Age.
‘A graphic designer uses visual elements, including illustration, typography, iconography and others to communicate information and ideas. A good design can easily capture people’s attention and convey a message comprehensively,’ added Mahatab Rashid, who bagged the best award in graphic design for his artwork titled Utsaber Ahaban at the 23rd Young Artist Art Exhibition organised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

‘Political cartoons are my favourite. I try to address contemporary political issues through my cartoons. For example, I have addressed road safety movement, Digital Security Act and many others through my cartoons,’ mentioned Mahatab Rashid, who has also been trying his hand at designing book covers.
‘I started my journey as a cover artist designing children’s book penned by Mashudul Haque. Later, I designed covers of books by Ahsan Habib, Jamil Bin Siddique and others,’ said Mahatab Rashid.
