It’s been alleged that the hustlers and runs girls scenario which played out at last year’s AMVCA, also played out at the 2023 edition of the prestigious award show.
The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) is one of the biggest nights in Nigerian entertainment, and it’s also a major fashion moment. Celebrities from all over the country come together to celebrate the best of Nollywood, and they always dress to impress.
The 9th edition of the award show was held on Saturday, May 20, at the Eko Hotel, and it celebrated talents in the film world across Africa.
Vanguard reported that hustlers and runs girls took over Eko hotel where the 2023 AMVCA was held, gallivanting and begging for financial assistance.
According to the publication, the guests outside far overwhelmed those who were in the convention centre venue of the sold-out show. One instance was when some hustlers were spotted accosting Nkem Owoh aka Osuofia, while he was returning to his room after the show.
They were reportedly begging him for financial assistance and following him about even while he sought for a safe space. They only retreated when he ran into the crowd.
