About Lauren Hom
Lauren Hom is a designer and hand lettering artist based in Detroit, but She will always says she is a California gal at heart. She picked up hand lettering as a hobby while studying advertising at the School of Visual Arts, and over the next few years. Lauren Hom leveraged a few clever passion projects into a thriving freelance business.
Lauren Hom knows from experience that building a creative career can be a challenging and overwhelming attempt, which is why she love sharing what she have learned with others through her online courses and free resources on her blog.
Hom is now 31 years old, and is based in Detroit, working as a freelancer full time. She talks out about her career all the time, describing how her career doesn’t even feel like work anymore. Working as a freelancer, Lauren Hom is able to make her own working schedule, averaging 25 hours working a week. This lifestyle has allowed her to expand her portfolio tremendously and in turn expand her following and consumer pool; with more free time to experiment with new mediums and/or new passion projects, she expands the number of people she can sell her made content to.
