Ruth Porat is a British–American business executive take in-charge as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Alphabet Inc. and its subsidiary Google back in 2015. She is one of the key person of Google alongside Sundar Pichai and Thomas Kurian. Prior to joined Google as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Morgan Stanley from January 2010 through May 2015.
Early Life
Porat was (born 1957) to a Jewish family in Sale, Cheshire, England. She is the daughter of Dr. Dan and Frieda Porat. Her mother was born in Mandatory Palestine, and her father fled Vienna on Kristallnacht and found his way to Mandatory Palestine, enlisted in the British Army as a teenager and later fought in the 1948 Arab–Israeli War.
Education
Porat holds a B.A. in economics and international relations from Stanford University, an Master of Science (M.Sc.) in industrial relations from the London School of Economics, and an M.B.A. with distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Personal Life
Porat got married to Anthony Paduano, a partner in the law firm Paduano & Weintraub, in 1983. Porat is a survivor of breast cancer.
Porat reportedly paid $30 million for a house in Palo Alto in September 2015. In 2016, she gave the commencement address for graduates of the Wharton School.
